If there is one thing I have learned in our Direct Sales journey, it's not to compare our business to anyone else. Our journey isn't the same as anyone else's. To some, this business comes very naturally, and, thanks to the optics of Social Media, looks easy to some as well. This is not the case. They, just like me, have never had all the answers. In order to get where we wanted to go, and get where we still want to go, we had to, and have to be open to learn.
Be Open to Learn
If you assume that your years of experience are all you need to be able to train and support your team effectively, you are sadly mistaken and have obviously never heard of Social Media. This was the biggest learning curve for me – by far. In order to keep up and do this very thing you're reading right now, meant I had to be open to learn.
We took online classes and workshops. We did training calls and webinars, zoom chats and Facebook Lives. I committed to learn the programs we knew would support our business's growth. And we did the work that went with it. These last couple months have been so fun watching success come from the hard work and learning. Talk about an incredibly rewarding side effect just for being open enough to learn.
Be Committed to Try
Attend seminars. Take courses. Look up groups on Facebook to help you figure out what areas you want to grow in (ie. recruiting, effective parties, Social Media etc.) and then regurgitate what you have learned to your team and hold each other accountable to action what you learn.
Embrace that you don't have all the answers and then go in pursuit of them. Seek the answers you know will help your business and your team's. Grow as a professional and teach yourself something new. Be open to learn, and committed to try. Then watch the results come in.
